PT.Damba Intra grant with highest admiration the appointment of Maman Suryaman, its VP for General Affairs, as Commercial Consul Indonesia for the Office of International Commerce of the State of New Hampshire Department of Resources and Economic Development – NHITRC ‘New Hampshire International Trade Resource Center’ On November 03-05, 2008, Maman participated in World Urban Forum (WUF-4) at Nanjing, P.R.China.

The WUF-4 was attended by more than 5000 participants and majority of the participants are Head of Local Governments from throughout the world. Maman Suryaman, during this important occasion has introduced the State of New Hampshire, USA and NH International Trade Resource Center, its competence in global business development and to explore reciprocal prospects with the developing country and its communities.

World Urban Forum is an international high-end forum that is established by UN-Habitat the United Nations Human Settlements Programme and related to the world’s urban development. The subjects on which, the forum focuses involve housing, land, infrastructure, environment, sanitation, energy, education, health, safety and slum redevelopment, etc. The former sessions of World Urban Forums were respectively held in Nairobi (Kenya), Barcelona (Spain) and Vancouver (Canada).

The 2008 WUF-4 is hosted by the Nanjing Municipal People’s Government of China. The theme of the forum is ‘Harmonious Urbanization’ and mainly concerned about six sub-topics including urban social harmony, urban economy harmony, urban environmental harmony, urban spatial harmony, urban historical harmony and urban intergeneration harmony, with an emphasis on discussing urban disaster prevention and reduction and energy-saving in constructions, etc.

The event also exhibits the measures and solutions to sustainable development that are adopted by government organizations, cities and scientific research institutions from throughout the world.
