His Excellency James Alix Michel, President of The Republic of Seychelles and Honorary Consul Nico Barito during a friendly discussion on the strategy to attain the  economic development for Seychelles.

Effectively from March 22, 2006 the government of The Republic of Seychelles has appointed Nico Barito to be Honarary Consul of The Republic of Seychelles in Jakarta with jurisdiction over the whole Republic of Indonesia.

This honorable mandate is taken into the highest consequence to accelerate the bilateral relationship between Indonesia and Seychelles, and the private sector of the two countries towards a reciprocal 'win-win' sustainable partnership.

Realistic short term program is focus on enhancing capacity building on sustainable tourism and for the local communities, introduce responsible fishery & integrated down stream maritime economy, commercial networking and special endeavor to transform the port of Seychelles as service base and logistic gateway for sea and air cargo to Africa from Indian Ocean
