last decade, Indonesia went trough a rapid
urbanization and industrialization process during
which, little attention was paid to infrastructure
planning, environmental conservation and public
health protection policies. Thus, pollution and
environmental degradation have brought along by this
rapid development. |

is starting to change as a better educated and
increasingly amount population is not only expecting
but also demanding a better environment. During
recent years, various initiatives for pollution
abatement and control have been started. Individual
as well as centralized waste water treatment systems
have been constructed nationwide, emphasizing that
recycling is one of their desirable long-term goals. |
